Catholic Scouting Religious Emblems Counselor Training – March 26th, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30

This virtual training program is designed for those BSA registered Catholic Scouters who wish to serve as a counselor or facilitator for religious emblems in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.  Unit religious emblems coordinators should also go through this training session.

Religious Emblems Programs in Scouting can have a significant, positive influence in developing spirituality, citizenship, and character. The most important ingredient in Catholic Scouting is the interaction that youth have with their adult leaders and with priests, deacons, and religious emblems counselors. Volunteers in Scouting are role models and mentors and have a lasting impact on the lives of the youth they serve.

The training will be online, beginning at 6:00 p.m. and conclude by 8:00 if not sooner.

Attendees should have the Emblems books for either Cub Scouts (Light of Christ and Parvuli Dei activity books) or Scouts BSA and Venturers (Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII participant and counselor/facilitator manuals).  All are available at the Scout Shop except Pope Pius XII, which is ordered online.  Here is the link for the manuals –

Also, if not already done or current, complete BSA’s Youth Protection Training and the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston’s Safe Haven/Safe Environment training.

Online registration will close on March 25th.  Registrants will receive the ZOOM link via email upon registration.
